Did you know?
Horses are emotional mirrors. They naturally respond to human body language and emotions, which helps individuals with autism and depression practice emotional awareness, regulation, and communication—often without saying a single word.
A horse’s walk = human gait magic. The rhythmic movement of a horse closely mimics how humans walk, helping stroke survivors improve balance, core strength, and coordination sometimes even before they can walk independently again. Mood booster on four legs. Grooming, riding, and bonding with horses can increase serotonin and dopamine levels, which helps reduce anxiety and depression and builds confidence and motivation in a way that feels fun, not clinical.
The Kent Association of Riding Therapy (KART) is guided by an exceptional Board of Directors whose dedication, leadership, and passion drive the organization’s mission forward. Their diverse expertise, thoughtful stewardship, and unwavering commitment to those KART serves ensure strong governance, long-term sustainability, and meaningful impact throughout the community. Through their vision and service, the Board plays a vital role in helping KART continue to grow, thrive, and change lives.
